Patrizia di Carrobio, a longtime friend, GlitteratiGirl and unquestionably an Inspiring Woman. She is one of the trailblazers of our industry having been the first female auctioneer in the Christie's Jewellery Department.
Patrizia is an International dealer of precious gems and vintage jewellery, having begun her career at Christie’s New York in 1980, quickly becoming one of the firm’s senior gem appraisers and eventually heading the Jewellery Department.
If that weren't enough, Patrizia is also an author of three books!
In her first, Diamonds: A Personal Guide Patrizia walks couples through the engagement ring process, giving us witty anecdotes and stories of real-life couples.
Her second book, Knowing Jewels: How to Choose and Wear Them gives readers practical advice about buying, giving, and wearing jewellery.
In her most recent book Be Jeweled, Patrizia tells stories of her own life relating to jewellery, resulting in an intimate tribute to her experiences over the past 30 years - personal and professional.
Be Jeweled is the first of her books to be published in English.
Meet Patrizia at L'Ecole des Arts Joailliers in Paris on October 3rd where she will be discussing and signing Be Jeweled.
Patrizia's passion for jewellery spans centuries, cultures, and genres—from costume jewelry to Crown Jewels. She deals in important signed pieces as well as diamonds, pearls and coloured stones.
